About the Role
Greater London, United Kingdom Area (On-site)
The Company is seeking a Head of Casualty to spearhead the launch of a new Casualty practice. This pivotal role involves defining the underwriting strategy, building and leading a team, and working closely with capacity providers to establish a profitable and sustainable portfolio. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the business from the ground up, with a focus on long-term growth and the creation of a meaningful book. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in leading and growing a profitable Casualty portfolio, with international experience being highly valued. Credibility with capacity providers, established broker and market relationships, and an entrepreneurial mindset are essential for this position. The Head of Casualty will be responsible for setting the direction of the entire line, and as such, the role requires a leader with the drive and leadership to build a practice from scratch. The company is open to candidates from both insurance and reinsurance backgrounds, but what is most important is the ability to support the case for backing a new line and the ambition to take on a five-year journey of growth. The role offers a highly differentiated remuneration package, including a competitive base salary, participation in a company-wide profit share, and practice-level economics that align rewards with the performance of the practice.
